  • Part one complete: the Great Wall of China

Part one of my 2026 charity challenge is complete: five demanding days trekking a remote section of the Great Wall of China for Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust.

    Five unforgettable days

The trek meant up to seven hours of walking each day, with steep climbs and descents through wild and remote landscapes. It was physically demanding, unforgettable and a privilege to complete alongside Team Addenbrooke’s.

Thank you to everyone who donated, shared the fundraiser and sent messages of support. Every step was taken to help Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust support outstanding care, technology and research.

Next: Coast to Coast in seven days

The Great Wall was part one. From 30 July to 5 August 2026, I will take on the next challenge: approximately 192 miles from St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay, following the Coast to Coast route in seven consecutive marathon-distance stages.
