The Challenge
In July 2026 I will walk Coast to Coast across England, covering approximately 200 miles in 7 days. This challenge is about raising money for Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust to build 2 new hospitals – one for cancer research and the East of England’s first children’s hospital. Nearly half of all men will have cancer during their lifetime – let’s help change that scary fact for the better.
Why I’m doing this!
I’ve been fortunate enough to have benefitted from Addenbrooke’s technology. They saved my life. I know I’m one of the lucky ones, and it’s thanks to a car crash! Whilst I was in a stationary queue, someone ran into the back of me at around 70mph. As I damaged my neck I was fortunately put through a scanner, where they discovered a 27mm cancerous growth in my thyroid. I now have half a thyroid but I’m alive, thanks to Addenbrooke’s!
